Think glue + fine salt + black paper = winter magic. Your toddler pours, sprinkles, watches, and you get 20+ minutes of concentrated bliss. It is magical to see the salt stick to the glue and once you remove the excess the image remains.

Pipettes, watercolors, cotton pads — we made a polar bear look weirdly hilarious (“zombie bear”) and my 26-month-old LOVED the pipette challenge. It’s definitelly something new playing with pipettes. Perfect for preschoolers and kindergardens.

White cord + glue + a paper base + popsicle stick = a snowman! My 2-year-old loved wrapping, pressing, decorating.

Big brush free, hands in white paint, blue paper, snow dots — messy? Yes. Worth it? Absolutely. A classic winter art project that makes for big smiles.

12. Paper Cone Winter Dwarf Craft

This one’s pure winter magic. I cut out a simple paper cone (you can even use leftover wrapping paper!) and turned it into a tiny winter dwarf. We glued on a cotton beard, added a little pompom nose, and topped it with a pointy felt hat.

13. Crepe Paper Balloon Lanterns (Laternen)

This craft feels like a mini science experiment and art project in one. We blew up balloons in our mum child group, (one exploded half finished) tore up bits of bright crepe paper, and glued them all around the balloon until it was fully covered. After it dried , we popped the balloon — and ta-da, a glowing winter lantern!

14. ❄️ Polar Bear Paper Craft (Cute & Super Easy!)

This is a simple mixed art project. We used white crayons, blue watercolor, sticks and cotton to create a winter night scene.

✅ Prep Tips for Stress-Free Crafting

  • Have tissues or a towel right next to you.
  • Use an old shirt or smock on your toddler (because it will get messy).
  • Short supply lists and even shorter craft time. Toddlers don’t have endless focus.
  • Display the finished work proudly — the toddler love it, you love it.

🌨️ Why These Crafts Matter

Beyond being fun, these projects help toddlers develop fine motor skills, get curious about textures and colours, and feel like they made something. On gray winter days, that kind of little victory keeps the mood brighter. My son always proudly shows off all his crafts. <3 And I am a really proud mum too. Seeing how he learns to do harder and harder crafts.
