My son is 29 months old and we’ve been deep in farm animal week over here 🐄
He already loves animals, but ever since we started this theme he’s unpacked all his toy animals and basically turned our living room into a safari farm zoo hybrid.
This time, I wanted something:
- independent
- reusable
- no mess
- and quick to set up
And this farm animal sticker activity for toddlers ,turned out even better than I expected.

🎯 What You’ll Need for This Farm Animal Sticker Activity
- Printable farm background (I’ll share mine for free below!)
- Laminator + laminating pouch
- Chunky farm animal stickers (like these on Amazon)
- Flat surface (table or high chair tray)

Optional swaps:
- No laminator? Use a clear sheet protector.
- Only have flat stickers? Remove that paper backing sheet in between the stickers — you know the one — it makes them way easier to peel.
- No DAISO near you? I’ve linked a similar farm animal sticker set on Amazon.
I got our chunky 3D-style stickers from DAISO in Korea, but honestly any raised, easy-peel sticker works best for this age.
🛠️ How to Set Up (Super Quick Mum Version)
- Generate or print a farm background.
(I used AI to create mine — I’ll share the file in case you’re wondering how to do it.) - Laminate it.
- Hand your toddler the sticker sheet.
- Step back and observe.

That’s it.
I laminated ours because I know my son.
He peels stickers off. Then resticks them. Then peels them again.
And laminating means:
- The stickers last longer.
- The board survives.
- It’s reusable.
We’ve already used it three times!

🎯 How We Played (And What Actually Happened)
At first, I thought this would just be “stick animal, done.”
Nope.
He immediately started naming animals:
“Cow.”
“Horse.”
“Rabbit.”
“Squirrel.”
And not just randomly.
He put:
- The squirrel in the tree.
- The rabbit eating carrots.
- The mouse hiding in the compost.
- The dolphin in the pond (we had farm dolphins and honestly… why not? 😂)
He even gave the squirrel acorns. Added flowers. Built little scenes.
And then of course… the giraffe and monkey had to move in.
So now we have a farm animal zoo situation.
But what surprised me most?
He knew:
- What animals eat.
- Where they live.
- Who “likes” who.
- Which animals belong together.
He talked SO much. Way more than I expected.

At one point, he peeled everything off, made a “sticker mountain,” and restuck them all somewhere else.
No help needed peeling.
No glue.
No mess.
No cleanup.
And because it’s laminated? He can keep rearranging forever.
🧠 What They’re Learning (Even If It Looks Simple)
This farm animal sticker activity for toddlers hits so many skills:
🖐 Fine Motor Skills
- Independent peeling (huge win at 29 months)
- Pincer grasp
- Hand control
- Coordination
🐑 Vocabulary & Knowledge
We talked about:
- Barn
- Compost
- Pond
- Tree
- Pasture
- What animals eat
- Where animals sleep
He genuinely knew more than I expected.
🧠 Categorisation & Problem Solving
He decided:
- Does this belong here?
- What goes in the water?
- Who eats carrots?
- Who climbs trees?
And when I asked open-ended questions, it extended play so much.
Questions like:
- “Where does the mouse hide?”
- “What does the rabbit need?”
- “Who lives in the barn?”
- “Is a dolphin a farm animal?” (apparently yes in this house 😅)

📌 My Honest Mum Thoughts
This is one of those activities that feels almost too simple.
But:
- It kept him engaged.
- He came back to it.
- It sparked real conversation.
- It was completely mess-free.
- I didn’t have to supervise constantly.
You can do this:
- At the table
- On the floor
- In a high chair (good containment option if stickers tend to travel)
And because it’s reusable, it’s not a one-time craft.
For busy mums? This is gold.
📍 FAQ — Farm Animal Sticker Activity

Highly recommend. Flat stickers are harder unless you remove that inner backing sheet.
Q: Is laminating worth it?
Yes. Especially if your toddler likes peeling and resticking.
